Stock Blanks
Wildcat stock blanks come raw out of the mold with the flashing removed.
Sanded and filled blanks come sanded to 120-180 grit , and the mold seams
filled and blended in. some blanks require the bolt slot filed out.
Stocks come with a grey gelcoat finish , and 1'' aluminum blocks molded in
which need to be drilled and tapped for slin swivel studs 10/32 NF
Many of our stock patterns come with a pre-relieved action area , for minimal fitting , just bed to fit.
The barrel channel is molded in and is part of the structure, for some cases we can add filler
to the mold to allow you to open up the barrel channel for a larger contour.
The strength and ridgidity of our stock is achieved through a combination of material slection , design ,
and fiber selection and orientation. We use a combination of fiberglass and Carbon Fiber in what we
call a hybrid , the Carbon is used in the forend down into the action area where
it gives the best rigidity , and a fiberglass back half,
which aids in recoil reduction as it has more flex in the structure.
Wildcat stocks use a semi - Monocoque stressed skin , or uninterupted outer shell.
we also create a composite I beam through the middle of the stock full length on standard weight
and through to the grip on ultralight stocks, depending on the mold design.
We also create composite pillars in our stocks so no real need to pillar bed
as you won't crush our stock when tightening the action screws.
We do recomend the use of aluminum pillars in large magnum calibers though.
